Perhaps, and perhaps not.

But at the end of the day, that's his choice, isn't it?

OK fine. Serious suggestion. Take a cue from Kanye - don't try to make this a formal outfit or it will backfire on you like nothing else.

You could easily replace the tee with an OCBD and slim up the khakis and you would have an outfit more like what you're going for. Go with some serious hi-tops to avoid looking like you're trying to pull off a faux-pas and rather being an innovator. How about these Lanvinz in brown suede, burgundy patent leather and satin: http://www.barneys.com/High%20Top%20...efault,pd.html Or these Creative Recreation x Barneys in brown suede with silver accents:

Fuuma posted a WAYWT wearing black suede/leather/patent high tops (similar to those posted by redgrail, but without the strap and with a patent toe) and trousers within the last month or 2. He pulled it off pretty well, IMO.

Are you a referee? thats the only way I can see you wearing nikes and not looking like a hip-hop artist or athlete(not that either of those are particularly 'bad', just not really what I tend to consider... stylish.)

I'm in no mood to read this whole thread so if someone else has posted this already, I apologize but, if your shoes have to be made by Nike, they make Cole Haan as well. I think you can even get somewhat dressy shoes with that little pocket of air in the sole. In my opinion they are not attractive but they are far and away the most stylish/formal appropriate shoes manufactured by Nike.
