One thing is that most mid to higher end watches really don't lose much value once purchased used. If you consider that, then sure you might be paying for the brand, but it's closer to stuffing 5k under your mattress than it is to buy a suit that almost no one else can wear.

For these guys, I hate to say it, but with watches its all about brands and logos, unlike some of their clothing tastes.
As stated my best friend wore a rolex GMT pepsi until the day he was buried, I think the watch holds a bit more significance to me then brand.
