    This is a good list.

You know, I really wanted to like the Sex Pistols, I bought their album, and one of the 80's followups that fleeced the faithful, and where I can listen to a Clash album all the way through and never get fidgety or skip tracks...I can't really say that about the SP's. It's like...yeah yeah, whatev. We get it - you hate society and never learned how to play your instruments and don't see why that would matter anyway.

    Coldplay and The Killers...yeah. Overrated.

This is key. The Clash are light years ahead because they actually knew how to play their instruments and developed musically. The Sex Pistols were just a product of Malcom McLaren's brainfart after helping destroy what was left of the New York Dolls. The band was only notable as the spark to ignite the boom of bands who were inspired by them.

Absolutely no question that the correct answer is Bruce Springsteen.

    ^great from 81 to 85

    ^mediocre from 86-90

    ^inexcusable since

Exactly. The old stuff makes my spine tingle, the new stuff makes my stomach sick.

    Absolutely correct.

I'd like to jump in and say things like "Kanye," but to be honest, I can't name a single song he does.

pour moi, Radiohead... I just don't understand them, I've tried.

Radiohead is best enjoyed after a bad break-up, or in a blue funk, or when trying to sober up after a hard night of hitting the bottle. Playing their music on sunny days just does not compute.

    Absolutely correct.

Actually, I thought "gold-digger" was pretty clever and catchy. I had it on my running ipod for a while, and it was pretty effective at pacing me.

U2's Wiki page says they made "Incredible Fire" b/c

Part of it's the timing. OK Computer and Kid A came out during a large transitional phase away from grunge and towards the fuuuuuuutuuuuure, the apex of the dot-com boom and expansion of computers etc. I was also emo when I first heard them and we all know they're super gloomy. I could argue about the "soullessness of computers" and "eventual armageddon" hinted at on both albums, but seriously, they're just great fuckin songs. Kid A is still the one album I can listen to front-to-back and appreciate fully.

God, I hate them. Also, Journey and Styx. Bob Marley is not overrated. Edinatlanta fails again.

We may disagree on Springsteen but you get a big +1 from me on these.
