1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

God, I hate them. Also, Journey and Styx. Bob Marley is not overrated. Edinatlanta fails again.

    U2
    Coldplay
    Radiohead
    Jay-Z

    I would like to add

    Jack Johnson
    Beyonce
    anyone to come outta A.I.

Whoever said B.I.G. needs to be slapped. I agree most live rap sucks. Eminem and Kanye live are amazing.

I have to disagree here. Not that Bob Marley is a bad artist, just that he is incredibly overrated. Marley is ubiquitous on any college campus. Any person who is moderately "into Reggae" is in love with Bob Marley. For the most part, he is just a figure for the pot-smoking community. He is so non-threatening, he can be found on countless TV commercials. There is much more to reggae than just Bob Marley, but I think many people fail to see that.

Good artist, just overplayed and overused.

ummm, no. Well, maybe. Well, some is better than others, I guess. I do have a strange fondness for Tin Machine, though, but only their first album - second one blows badly.

Saying he is overrated is like saying Tiger Woods is overrated, or Michael Jordan is overrated.

Not really. They're both athletes where we can use objective standards to argue their ability. Granted we could say the same for record sales, but that would only point to Marley's pervasiveness. Listen to some Peter Tosh, Augustus Pablo, Burning Spear, or Toots and the Maytals. Marley isn't the only great reggae artist.

Fail. You can objectively prove how athletes are superior, but you can't really quantify how one artist is better than another. The thing about Marley that makes him overrated is what was already said. That somehow he became the be all end all of reggae when he is just a good reggae artist. The level of idolatry for Marley is not in line with the amount of talent he had.

bowie troubles me. ziggy is a great record, but like you i have trouble w/ pre & post. i'd keep station to station & scary monsters (+ a couple of stray songs), but you can take away the rest..

i will never understand the counting crows [IMG] or that curious george fellow

Awesome. Tell me how you can do this. It would solve so many arguments.

That just means people are idiots. Marley was not the only great reggae artist, but he was great enough that you cannot really overrate him, hence my comparison to Jordan or Tiger.
