i agree as well (even though i don't quite mind it lol) ....he has kinda moved away from that a bit with the trio but i don't think he'll completely stop it because it's what got him famous unfortunately. altho he is capable of MUCH better than pop, imo.

Wow, this thread is making me angry. I'll just say my pick for the number one most overrated is the Eagles and leave it at that.

I can't believe two people said Joy Division.

Gary Karr. He's considered the greatest double bass soloist of all time, but uses vibrato on nearly every note, uses glissandi in inappropriate places, and always plays loudly. Edgar Meyer and Francois Rabbath both play more subtly and artistically. But no one gives a **** about bass players. Oh, how could I forget? ANIMAL COLLECTIVE They aren't even that bad, but the extent to which pitchfork hypes them is mind boggling.

There's at least one good Eagles song. It was the one that was used as the intro to the BBC radio production of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
