He dominated the Euro's and pissed off the French. Anyone who can do that on their turf is ok in my book.

Yeah, he seems kinda douchey in real life, but as an athlete, he is definitely not overrated.

Is Larry Bird in the Top 5 basketball players of all time? No. But once you get to that level if somebody wants to put Bird in the Top 5 and another only want to put him in his Top 15, what's the difference?

The reality is that he put up very good stats and won several titles. Did he play on a stacked team? Sure of course he did. Nevertheless, he was one of the most clutch players of all time.

The common argument is that Lance is a one trick pony. He was never able to do well in most of the other road races and I'm not sure he ever medaled at the Olympics. The reality is that the TdF involves going through a mountain range over several days and this enabled him to use his one superior strength to his advantage. Much more so that in any other race.

(both HOF's with spotty assed statistical resumes and careers).

Have to disagree with you regarding Reggie. The guy played on five World Series winners, have 500+ HRs, six seasons with 900+ OPS, and was one of the best post season performers in the modern era.

Also to refer to yourself as "the straw that stirs the drink" is just friggin' awesome.

Plus, he's one of the very few athletes to come to The Big Apple, embrace the limelight, and succeed.

Even so, if he truly did not dope, he may actually be underrated.

Probably doped, though. Still impressive.

Can I say Frank Dux? Frank Dux who won the Kumute. I'd really like to know if he was the first Westerner to win it.

You mean fat frank who got pwned by a green belt during a MA demo in CA about twelve years ago?

Cool story though.
