Side gussetted imitation brogues with imitation lacing from G&G and Cleverley...aka the Lazyman shoes because they look like oxfords yet have no lacing and do not have the closed laced tightness associated with Oxfords.

My black calf elastic sided full brogued shoes, with imitation lacing from Cleverley. Fit great and look beautiful.

I have a pair of Bontoni monks that are more comfortable than any of my Lobbs, C&J, and others. They have an especially comfortable liner made from special spacesuit padding material. It is really quite amazing. I think you would be impressed. I will be buying another pair for that reason.

It's odd. I love my AE, but by the end of the day, I'm ready to get them off my feet. Can anyone legitimately say any high-quality dress shoes are comfortable?

I've heard Ecco are like sneakers, but I don't really consider them dress shoes, per se.

Ecco's are extremely comfortable. Mephisto are the closest i've tried, but they some wouldn't consider those dress shoes either. They are very comfortable, but their dressiest compares in no way to AE.
