Today must have been the biggest day for Morning Wear in a generation. I wonder how many of the male guests at the wedding hired rather than purchased? http://nicolacornick.co.uk/blog/2011...s-lounge-suit/

Its a sad reflection of the level of political debate in the UK media at the moment. There's no snob like an inverted snob: The last British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, took this to an extreme when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer (finance minister). The annual Lord Mayors Banquet at the Mansion House in the City is an important (white tie) political event where the Chancellor gives a speech. Brown always insisted on wearing rumpled OTR blue lounge suit to give the speech, when everyone else was impeccably dressed; his intention being to demonstrate his contempt for the tradition and manners of those present who largely did not share his political views. His rudeness was legendary, and thankfully a fading memory.

I think Mr Cameron looks pretty sharp. Sure the outfit is a bit baggy, but that's just an old fashioned fit.
And Mr Clegg + wife aren't even British.
And TRH the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge looked very sharp indeed.
As did Prince Harry.

I know you were kind of joking but still: **** you.

Whilst even dark grey is not really correct for such an occasion, (presumably they were going on to the races) the Cleggs do look better than the Camerons- Samantha has no hat and Cameron's trousers are far too long. It is to be hoped that whoever hired them to him claims no credit. And what is that orange garment she is carrying? A cardigan?

It is her hat. She took it off.

Maybe a bit peculiar, but I always associated these types of jackets with butlers.

Baggy does not = old-fashioned. Also he has a rueful gap between his shirt and coat collar, and that's not old-fashioned either.
