Could it be chafing/rubbing from the belt loops on your pants? When you close the belt and pull on the right strap, the belt loops could potentially damage the leather.
Yes - I guess that’s it. But is it usual that it appears so fast ?

Well, as others have pointed out, it's really very tiny. Other than that, I wouldn't want to comment on other people's product, also because no info is given about the leather itself.

According to https://www.morjas.com/blog/collection-update-introducing-our-new-leather/, they moved to full grain leather in February 2022. Has anyone tried the shoes since then? The old leather looked obviously poor (shockingly bad on some of the photos in this thread), but I like the silhouette on the collab Morjas did with Casatlantic so if the leather is decent I miiight consider that. It’s similar to the Horatio silhouette, which I like but which I won’t go for because of their use of corrected grain leather (and lack of half sizes).

The marketing and pictures on the website look really nice - I've gotten brown suede tassel loafers and black grain penny loafers from them, really love the almond shaped last. Have not worn them yet, so can't comment on how they will wear, but the size runs kind of big, even according to their guide on the website. Had to get some tongue pads for the first pair and downsized from the recommended size based on my foot length on the second pair. The quality out of the box on inspection doesn't seem bad - the shoes look very presentable and nice, but I'm kind of worried that the shoes will be creasing badly once I'll start wearing them. Hopefully that will not be the case! If they will, will make sure to leave an according review though.

Saw that they have black Friday sale right now, and some of the shoes they are offering with some wear and tear and the prices for them quite seem shameless for me, and also generally worries me about the quality of the leather looking at how creased some of the lightly used shoes look.

Here's a few examples:

Retailing for 262 eur.

Retailing for 221 eur.

I would really want to love these, but, unfortunately, I'm very much on the fence.

Now for years I have been following Morjas on Instagram and have been seeing them worn by the swedish dudes. I have to say to marketing and the presentation is pretty nice so I bought a pair of black grain winter jumper boots in 2020 and was pretty impressed with the shoes. The leather feels very soft, you can wear them all day walking in the city there are nearly no creases after a lot of wears.
So after considering I bought my first pair of suede loafers in 2021, where I had the same first impression. Seemed high quality and good price as well. But then after 3 times worn I only felt pain and saw, that the shoes very not symmetrical. 5mm higher wall on one shoe in comparison for the other side! And moreover the leather was veryyyy used and scratched off just by 3 times short walking.
So from my own experience and all the other comments in this forum here, ask yourself wether you wanna take the risk or invest 100€ more for a safe bet.
But my question is where I can find similar looking black calf penny loafers, since I don't like the "flat" look of lets say Carmina or other brands.

What is a flat look? Carlos santos makes some nice penny loafers (model 9176). Tlb Mallorca has some nice ones I think. Cobbler union, septieme largeur. You spend a bit more but get much better shoes.

Well thanks for the answer. I will try out the Skolyx black Loafers, since they are similar priced as Morjas, but the reviews online and in the forum are quite good. Moreover they are made from full grain leather and for 239€ fairly priced.
When I will be in Paris, I definetely want to visit Septieme Largeur! @Noblekostas

I like their designs and prices. At some point when I need either a loafer or derby I may try them r Carmina or even berwick. Problem is my only well fitting goodwear welted shoes are from Grant Stone and Spier and Mackay. Not any other mainstream brands. So sizing will be tricky

Avoid berwick imo. 7L is made in the same factory as morjas and many other brands but to a much higher standard.

Your shoes are good reference already don’t worry.

Why would you say to avoid Berwick? I've recently done some research on them and they would seem to be very good value. On their suede loafers they source from C.F. Stead and their black penny's were a Boxcalf from Annonay. Made in Spain as well

Hi Kostas,

I ended up buying from your other friend Tom over at Sons of Henrey. However, Septieme Largeur is still on my radar for loafers. Will reach out to them for sizing advice when the time comes.
