More Ties: Resale Ignorance is Bliss....

A week ago it was a marvelous Arnys tie I posted about.... Saturday I was at a larger but more ordinary resale store (one with typically lots of good ties) and spotted a flower tie in pinks with the strong Liberty of London image. Naturally I thought it must be one of the spin-offs so was quite surprised to find it indeed had the Liberty label (the loop) - the real thing. Very nice cotton tie with intricate flower pattern mostly in pinks - a real light-weight British summer tie. Priced ridiculously at 89 cents, I was ready to grab it even though I 'm not all that happy with the idea I should not wear it over half the year. I also noticed it said it was made in the U.S. and wondered about that too.
Then I looked a little further and spotted an even more beautiful flower tie - with dark navy background and bolder red-and--cream flowers - a real beauty! This all-silk tie was priced even more ridiculously at 49 cents! It too was said to be made in the U.S. Both ties in excellent condition, BTW. The store, incidentally, does have some ties at least a few dollars. They clearly have no idea how special the Liberty of London name or reputation is....
Two questions: Does anyone know what's the story with Liberty accessories made in the United States? When and does this say anything about quality? I was told, for example, that a Borsalino hat I purchased which was said to be made in the U.S. was basically "not the real thing" and of lesser quality (and I paid less).
Second, what's your opinion of wearing a flower tie (in silk) year round? If the climate makes any difference in your response, we get real winters around Cleveland.

I doubt that the fashion police will actually flog you, but I would probably only wear the tie in the summer.

After picking up a fabulous cotton Liberty of London tie at their flagship store last year - one not with flower pattern but instead an Art Nouveau design - I asked this question and got mixed opionions. In that case the material was the criteria in question, obviously not the pattern.
Many decades ago many changed their flower-patterned drapery for the colder months, but I don't imagine that's too common any more. Same can be said with women's dresses, etc. I suppose. Nevertheless, people sure display flowers indoors in this kind of climate all winter (thought a florist typically charges more), and they do the flower wallpaper, etc.
