Consignment Websites Flourish
Over the last year a number of new consignment websites have opened, including re.porter and our very own LuxeSwap as well as better known women’s destinations such as The Real Real, Material Wrld, Vaunte and Closet Rich. Key to this growth is the increasing sophistication of the selling platforms of these websites – The Real Real, for example, is launching a mobile shopping application this month, and sees 1.5 million unique visitors a month, with an average of 15,000 sales a month. In terms of StyleForum, the growth of this market is a good sign – more avenues to acquire great pieces at a discount are always welcome.
