If Vox, say, walked into your office wearing a DB with a BD and a bowtie, I imagine the fit of his suit, the quality of his shoes, and his choice of accessories would make a pretty compelling case that his collar selection was not at all ignorantura. I'd much rather see that sort of quirk and eccentricity than yet another fellow in a ghastly pastel point collar shirt and square-toed, corrected-grain Kenneth Cole frankenshoes.
Vox would never make it to someone's office, he would be too swamped by autograph seekers and sprezzarazzi.

We're only supposed to comment on the BD w/ the DB aspect, right? Because it would be fun to rehash the larger discussion of the outfit again.

It'd be perfect if the shirt collar's cutaway BD.

I have a French cuff, oxford cloth, button down, (pleated) dinner shirt from Black Fleece. Merely in jest, of course.

BD with FC and DB... isn't that a bit of a mongrel, Continental-French-Pom-Yankee look?

I think it looks rubbish. But then, I wouldn't wear a BD collar with any suit. But then, I'm not American, so what do I know about such things?

Where's my stock OCBD with a DB jacket shot?

Oh...here it is:

Not a suit, though.

Don't forget the little snipers in Sviglia suits.

They're small but feisty.

I recently wore a peak lapel, SB, windowpane suit with an OCBD and bow tie...

...and a surcingle belt.

Am I a goober?

It wasn't a DB, so no, you were not a Goober. But given the aggregation of sartorial oddities associated with that outfit, you may well have been Goober's cousin - Gomer. Can't know for sure unless you would be so kind as to post a photo.
