I would say double. Fabric isn't thick enough to warrant a triple cuff. And inseam on that model isn't that long.

    Triple in the photo.

I normally do double cuff with most boots or shoes, but I do a triple cuff when I am wearing them around the house. For the photo, I was wearing the day prior at home and had a triple cuff at the time.

For this denim I prefer a double cuff look to hide the hem. Looks cleaner in my opinion on this fabric.

Nice looking cuff then. If I do a triple cuff, it looks hideous. How come they are flat looking, Jay?

    jay,

i had a chance to have a feel of the x02 denim the other day. seemed to me a really stiff coarse fabric.

your grand indigos look fantastic -

what are your thoughts on initial soaking with the deep indigo / grand indigos ? is it effective at softening up the denim? is indigo loss particularly bad?

when were your washes/soaks in the life of your grand indigos?

any other pro- or anti- initial soak suggestions.

I did a cold soak on my 0702s, and the denim didn't really soften up that much. After several months of semi-regular wear, it's still pretty stiff actually.

Starting to see some fading though, I can tell that they are going to be beautiful eventually. It's really incredible denim.

Don't soak. No reason to do it. I initially did a presoak because it is technically a 85% sanforized fabric. So I soaked to test the shrinkage and they did not shrink at all. I wish I did not soak and actually could have sized down one. They hold their indigo extremely well, just loss a little starch. They will soften after about 2 full months of wear.

So I did a soak the first day, then washed at about 5 months and 2 washes after that point.

Coming Soon! Momotaro x Blue Owl 13oz Silk Blend "Tapered" Raw Selvedge - BOM004 [IMG] We have yet another project in the works - Momotaro x Blue Owl BOM004. Our newest Momotaro collab has just been finalized and is scheduled to be released before the holidays. This denim will feature a silk blend fabric which uses 40% silk and 60% Zimbabwe cotton and it introduces a new fit never made by Momotaro....."tapered!" Here are a few more details. [IMG] The fabric is a 13oz sanforized selvedge made with a blend of silk for the weft yarns and Zimbabwe cotton on the warp. The Zimbabwe cotton is rope dyed in pure indigo to a super dark color, but the actual color has a blue gray tone as the silk can be seen along the surface. The exterior surface has slubby texture and a soft feel with a touch of crispness. The interior is incredibly soft, like wearing silk bed sheets wrapped around your legs. Bottom line, this denim is pure luxury, plus it will fade well as the dark indigo will give a nice contrast after some wear. Light blue gray thread was used throughout the denim, including the exposed inseam, which has a slight contrast against the pure indigo dyed fabric. The fit is the same "tapered fit" that is used Japan Blue tapered denims. The fit has a medium to low rise, a bit of room in the thigh, and tapers from upper to a narrow leg opening. More details on our blog: http://blueowlworkshop.blogspot.com/2012/08/coming-soon-momotaro-x-blue-owl-13oz.html

I just got a pair of these - the fit is just what I was looking for, and looks nothing like the pics on that website which must be sized up quite a bit. Very similar to 0201 but with an extra cm in the rise and thighs but basically the same leg opening. My first Momos were TTS 0201's and after a run through the washer dryer at 6 mos they shrank too much for comfort in the rise and thighs so I sold them. The 0901 is just what I was looking for.

My 0201's fit well through several soaks and drip dry cycles but after agitation in a washer/dryer it was game over. I was only ever able to stretch my waist back to the raw size, and that was torturous. The thigh shrinkage was irreversible, as you might expect.
