Momotaro: Slim Tapered Copper Label Denims [IMG][IMG] Today we have added 2 new denims to our growing Momotaro selection! Today's shipment from Momotaro included two slim tapered denims from the Copper Label series, one is a beautiful light indigo with a rich vintage feel and the other is a super dark indigo that will have high contrast fading. The Momotaro Copper Label series features a 14.7oz weight selvedge made with 100% Zimbabwe cotton, custom engraved copper finished buttons and rivets, 1/8" thick washed cowhide patch, chambray lined back yoke, hidden back pocket rivets, and heavy duty flannel pocket bags that have been hand dyed in pure indigo. Basically this denim features every detail that you would expect from Japanese artisans. Momotaro Copper Label 14.7oz "Slim Tapered" Raw Selvedge Denim in Vintage Indigo - Model G004-MB * The Momotaro "tapered" fit is slim in the top block, has a medium rise, enough room in the thigh to be comfortable, and begins to taper from the upper thigh all the way to the leg opening. * 14.7oz selvedge one wash (washed one time using sea water from Okayama coast) * Rope dyed deep blue pure indigo * Flannel pocket bags and back yoke lining dyed in pure indigo * 1/8" thick cowhide leather patch branded with the Momotaro "Japan Blue" logo * Stitching of peach logo on back right pocket * Copper rivets and buttons all engraved with Momotaro logos * Pink selvedge, pink interior thread - both representing the peach from the "Momotaro" folklore story. * 100% Zimbabwe cotton * 100% natural cotton thread * Available in sizes 28-34, 36 * Made in Japan [IMG][IMG]

I'm looking into the G004 as well, but I'm not too familiar with Momotaro. As a one wash model should I expect any shrinkage in the thigh and waist?

It is a one wash model so there will be limited to no shrinking at all.

Very curious for a report once you get them. This is the only model from them that fits what I'm looking for: reasonable thigh room, clear taper from knee to hem, 8" or less hem on ~32" waist pair (regardless of tag size.)

the 31 would be ideal if the waist stretches some. if the denim is only going to give up maybe .5" then maybe go 32... I'm tempted.

    When I ordered I asked Jay which I should go for. I wear a 31 (could do 30) in NF WG, a 32 in the 0705sp, 31 in 1705, and a 31 in the 3-Sixteen SL-100x.

Jay told me to go with the 32 in the G004-MB. Dude hasn't been wrong yet, so I went for it!

Does anyone have an idea of how much the G014-MB will stretch in the waist? My waist measures a little under 34 inches, and I can't decide between the tagged sized 32 or tagged size 33. I like the rest of the measurements of the tagged size 32 more than the 33, but I don't want the waist to be too tight. Any ideas?

Momotaros are hard to stretch. Size down at your own risk.

THIS HAS BEEN SAID MULTIPLE TIMES IN THIS THREAD ALONE.

El is right, momos are hard to stretch. But, it depends on what part of the pants need stretching. If the only tight area is the waist, you should be fine with the 32s on your 34" waist. If the thighs on those 32s is too tight, you'll have to size up to 33 (but your waist will fit a little loose).

That's the answer I was looking for. I have definitely seen that Momos are hard to stretch, but it is only the waist that needs stretching. Thank you for your help!

Not much, an inch in the waist is possible though. The thighs for sure are not going to stretch much. As I mentioned many times before. Get the thigh measurements right. You can always wear a belt, cheaper than having them up in B&S.

Got my G004-MB's today, awesome jean! Perfect slim straight jean for those looking to feel the circulation in your legs and balls.

I have the 0705sp, and though comfortable, they are tight. Also own the 1705'S, which fit great, but took a little breaking in. The G004-MB's are the "loosest" of the three. I went TTS and they literally fit me perfectly.

I would compare the fit to a 3Sixteen SL-100x, and maybe a little slimmer than the APC NS's. Weight is nice, jean feels good to the touch, highly reccomended.

I'm going to spring for a new pair from Jay based mostly on fit this time. Narrowed it down to three:

    - Japan Blue JB0401
    - Eternal 883
    - 3sixteen SL-100x

The JBs and 3sixteens seem to have a cleaner look that makes them dressier. The Eternals look slubbier and more vintage.

Anyone have input or experience with any of the above?

Probably be a better post in the Blue Owl thread.

    FWIW, I dig my SL-100x's.
