Molded Soles?

I've never bought shoes that had these kinds of molded soles, partly because they don't seem like a practical investment. What are you supposed to do once they wear down? Do you just throw them away? Or can they be replaced somehow? Are these types of soles more durable than a conventional dress shoe heel/sole? Otherwise I'd be replacing them every six months!

C'mon, surely someone has casual shoes with this kind of permanent sole, right?

Ther're more durable, but if you wear them a lot they aren't as practical as a more traditional wood/rubberheel. I believe Cole-Haan and Mephisto will resole their shoes with this type of a sole, but I don't know of any other shoe companies that will.

Please don't buy those. They're ugly.

Above poster is wrong - check out a pair of mephisto abels (in person - not only online) and tell me they are ugly. It is my regular shoe of choice with jeans and woman are always stairing down at my shoes. Actually I just lied about that last thing, but if I was a gurl - I'd definitely be looking at my fine pair of shoes !

I clean em every week lately cause of all the snow and salt we r getting up here in the T-Dot.
