After seeing episodes of The Simpsons in which various people wear a black vest and cummerbund with a black tie and a tailcoat, I did not expect much in terms of men's style from that show. However, I was very much surprised to see, in the episode in which Homer 'steals' Moe's car for insurance fraud, that Moe's trousers were held up by braces and they had a split at the back, indicating they were the 'fishback' or 'dovetailed' style. I wonder who it is that drew those....

But Moe was also wearing wooden clogs on the politically charged episode where Bart accidentally moons the American flag.

the fact that the writers are concentrating on the styling of moe syzlack might be one of the reasons the episodes have been horrible for the past, oh, 5 years or so (with a few here and there)
