Although I have technically forsworn RTW shoes, there are a few holes here and there where resistance has been futile.

Who is getting your bespoke trade?

For the life of me, I don't understand the G&G naysayers.

Well, you know what they say...

I think the DG70 looks much better in that size. My G&Gs on that last in an 11.5, besides being slightly too small, feel very long.

I agree with you there...I'm not fond of that last in larger sizes, but in mine it works out nicely.

I will also say that at least in the two samples of G&G that I have, the quality of the calf equals the best RTW Lobbs I've seen or own and also my Saint Crispin's. My EG and C&J are not quite as nice.

I have a hard time comparing Vass to the English shoes, particularly since a third of the Vass that I have are Horween shell cordo...the Vass calf seems thicker to me, which is neither a plus nor a minus from my perspective.

The "smart" lasts are not good in large sizes. Neither, frankly, is the soft square IMO. But soft round =

Modest my arse. Oustanding line-up. Really like that Grant (but will make do with the humble Weymouth). None of these have had their hymens broken yet, so to speak, as far as wearing?

Me neither, you english shoeFrans should be all over this, what I've seen was much nicer than Lobb and EG. The pair I tried was quite comfortable too.

I think the soft round is kind of shapeless, actually. I know that makes me an idiot. But I'd take the 202 or the 330 from C&J over the soft round.
