How does the fit of the F last compare to the DG70? I really like the Grant.

Also what size do you wear in both?

W., I wear a 40.5 in both U and F...U is a little snug, F a little not. My G&G DG70s are 7E, and they wear like the U or a EG 888.

I think the differences might become greater as you increase in shoe size and I can see why in medium to large sizes, people size up a half from their Fs to their Us.

Thakns VS. I wear 43.5 in U and 43 in F. I'm trying to determine my G&G size after seeing your Grants

I would size it to EGs, if you own any, particularly the 888.

Yeah...the problem with that is the only pair of EGs I've owned didn't fit very well...

FWIW, my G&G size is the same as my Lobb size. Half size smaller than my EG size, and one width wider.

I would be wary of the DG70, then. You always email Gaziano and indicate which EG lasts you've tried out to see what he might say about fit comparisons with the G&G lasts.

You wear the GG06, though, right? The trad round toe last?

It might be roomier than the pointier lasts.

They all fit me the same, I just like that one the best.

I am amazed by your ability and speed with on-demand spot-on pictorial responses, many of them photoshopped. Are you in a creative field? Your office, or at least the part of office where you took the shoe group photos, look more like an ad agency, design or publishing firms than a law or consulting firms. You look like a present day Madman Don Draper.

Yes. Snarking.

Seriously, nearly all the pics are from Google or from a period last spring when I posted what I was wearing in the what am I wearing thread for a month or so straight. I did that to give context, good and bad, to my opinions...you know, "What's that asshole blathering about? Ah, he dresses like crap. What does he know?"

Funny you mention that...my office does date back to that period and is palacial with floor to ceiling windows on one side and various suboffices in the suite for helpers. I am not a lawyer or consultant, although both come and see me often.

Tony and Dean both said all of G&G's RTW/MTO lasts fit the same

The difference in shape of the front has nothing to do with roominess

Thus whether its the squared chiseled toes or the rounded lasts...toe box roominess is the same

I have the squared last and smart squared last....they both fit the same

In contrast EG's 888 last fits similarly, but on the Montgomery monk strap...the toe box felt a tad bit tighter than either G&G lasts I own (on the Warwick and Wigmore)

Who could blame you? RTW or not-very impressive-superb collection!

Maybe not for the scotchgrain/calf combination.

I also would tend to the round toe with the Rothschild. The Grant is not my cup of tea.

IMO, the Benton is a "waste" of money. Classic models should be bespoke, IMO.

Btw and with tongue in cheek, with your love for Knize(noble prize), why don't you give Scheer a try.
