Hi all, first time here, but I have a question that it seems this community might be an expert on.

So, I'm getting married next March, and I'm trying to be proactive and handle all the details way ahead of time since I figure the closer to the date, the more stressed everyone will be. I decided to go MTM for the groomsmen suits (no tuxes, a bit more casual affair) so we'd all look awesome day of the wedding. After snooping around a bit and reading reviews, it seemed Modern Tailor had the cost/quality ratio I was looking for so as to not destroy my groomsmen's wallets.

So I sign up, get my $20 first code, and go to use it on their site for some suit swatches (which they even recommend in the into email). Easy right? Well, no.

Turns out, the site just straight up won't allow it. "Sorry, you can place this order together with other item next time." I contact support, and apparently they have a policy now where you can only order suit swatches with another item. So, you have to buy a shirt (which I have zero interest in, my closet is full) in order to even know if the fabric is good enough to buy a suit. When I pointed out the email to support, they replied that they' would honor what they said in the email, but they'd also add an additional $10 charge for shipping, as well as send it a much slower route expected to take 30 days. With the amount their stock of fabric sells out, by the time I get the swatches there is a pretty high chance most of those fabrics wouldn't even be available to order!

Am I the crazy one here? They give me a $20 off coupon, that can only be used on your first order, but not on trial shirts or on the very swatches they recommend using it on. So the only way to use the voucher is to buy a $40+ shirt I don't want, and then add another $20 in swatches?

Is this even worth the hassle? At least if I go into a Brooks Brothers I have someone I can actually talk to to make things right.

Thanks for helping the newbie

Going to Brooks seems a better idea, Bricks and Mortar shops have many advantages if you are new to this.
