Anyone know of really cool, modern looking night stands that have some sort of hidden compartments in them? i'd like something low to the ground and very contemporary.

Compartment for the gun, the weed or the condoms?

Gun goes under pillow, smoke all the weed before bed. Display condoms proudly, maybe by stapling them to the wall

i totally cant picture what you mean here. Do you have any pics of hidden compartment nightstands (even if you dont like them) just so we have a better idea of what you are after?

seriously, buy something from ikea, get an other piece of furnture with a identical wood color, and then make a false back or bottom to one of the exposed compartments - you can easily make a storage compartment that will hold pretty much what ever it is you want to hide, and since you are the only one who knows about it, and it isn't very deep, no one will every find it. Use magnets, glued or screwed to both sides, to keep it closed to that it requires a strong tug to open.

If you make a false bottom w/ the strong magnets, you can also drill a very small hole through the false bottom panel (position the hole so it will be at the end of the drawer), then use a small rod to pry the bottom out when you need to. You can also re-enforce the underside of the hole (unexposed side) with a small washer or two epoxied on for strength.
