Modern 501s, new production jeans any good?

After not wearing jeans since I was like 9 I thought I'd get a pair the other day to try something new. I found some pre-shrunk 501s at Goodies and they seem nice but now I'm reading on this board the jeans people recommended are made before 1947?
How hard is it to find this vintage stuff? Arnt they a little dingy and worn out? I guess if they made things so well back then I'd still be better off than with the stuff made today?
I really like how the jeans fit snug like they do, I think I might like the low rise slim fit, but I like my clothes to be new and clean so I suppose its a tradeoff between that and the quality? Please advise.

the jeans we talk about here are reproductions of old jeans, mainly from japan. levis also makes some in thier LVC(levis vintage clothing) line. search thru the site and you will find alot of info about the jeans, how to buy, sizing, fit, etc...

be warned... once you start you wont be able to wear "normal" jeans like department store levis again.

Ah I see now, everything is newly made, its just made to look like an older model of jean? So the levis I have would be considered vintage because they're a 1947 design?

not exactly... unless they are actually LVC, in which case you would have spent near 200$ ON THEM AND THEY WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY BEEN UNWASHED AND UNSHRUNK.
