Most Black people hate the fact that hip hop kids use the Nigger word but it was appropriated as a way of taking the hate out of it . If someone tells you ( a grown man ) that the words Paki or Nigger are wrong it does not make them a Facist ... just grown up . The idea middle aged men would even have such a discussion is bizzare ( i can understand 15 - 17 year old boneheads with such childish views ) . Even more bizzare that they are in a culture that celebrates Black music and Black fashion.

Just to get off the politics. Think I may of posted this a few hundred pages ago on here...the cutting was kindly donated by Della a original skinhead girl.
Willesden is a area next to Kilburn...with a overlap..as some Kilburn and Willesden lads went to the same schools....The Willesden had a large mob of hard lads..who often caused havoc around NW London.
Just to add both those Pubs that those lads drank in was balldozed years ago...one other thing worth mentioning Trogan records had their main offices across the road in Neasden Lane.:)

Are you saying I have childish views flyfronted, because I have just put a query about the Names. The one thing that is not discussed properly in this Country is Immigration etc. Why,because the People who call all the isms out are not mature enough,to talk about it.I did not say I call Blacks "Niggers" just asked the Question why.they call it themselves. The thing is "Boneheads" belong to the Right and the Left-because they have been indoctrinated with the Propoganda(from either side). They are then used by People who have not got the Guts to fight the Battles for themselves. It is alright to split the "Working Class".As I said this was a Democracy, and in it People were allowed to speak and ask Questions-I do not like what some People say or write but that is their Right. So lets not start calling People Names eh?

My moms side of the Family is Welsh and Scottish.Been in New England since the Mayflower. So I am a Yank.I don't mind the term.I do mind when southerners call me a Yankee and talk shit about the Civil War.Rediculous.Paki is short hand and made racsist by racsists using it that way.Chinc is definitely a derogatory term for Chinese.

Yes, but do we know what other People call us? :)A few years ago,"Ethnic Minorities" was encouraged to mean non British. Now it is considered Racist by the so called Intellectuals.Soon,to call this group of Countries the United Kingdom, will be deemed Racist.

The term Yankee (sometimes shortened to Yank) has several interrelated meanings, all referring to people from the United States. Within the US it can refer to people originating in the northeastern US, or still more narrowly New England, where application of the term is largely further restricted to the descendants of colonial English settlers in the region. Outside the US it is used to refer to people from the US in general.

Just to add my opinion. Been awhile since I've been here. Really surprised how race and politics got mixed up in this otherwise informative discussion board about sartorial sense.

Its all a matter of context and the history behind those terms. "Paki" "Chink" "Nigger" "Jap" or "Yid" were historically used for derogatory purposes, whereas "Yank" or "Brit" didn't have the same connotation and they don't provoke the same emotions of lynchings, or slavery (especially for blacks when "nigger" is used) because the way I see it the word "Brit" was often used as a term of endearment or an abbreviated word for British, nothing more. There are racial and derogatory terms for White people in general, but Brit or Yank is not one of them. "Limey" could be a derogatory term depending on context, but I believe that term originally was a nickname for British sailors. In America white people invented all sorts of derogatory terms for other white people. "Mick" and "Polak"were all offensive terms as a result of American nativist sentiments against Irish and Polish mmigrants in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

I don't really take too much offense, for everyone calling me Yank I'll fire back with Brit or Limey and its usually all in good fun, but I honestly don't think the term applies to me, and remember there is The Limey with the great Terence Stamp, hell I still call the netherlands Holland and if your from England don't tell me UK people that doesn't tell me where you are from very well.
