I'm not going to post the individual pics from this site - too many and I've seen a few here - but here's the link... some I have not seen anywhere.

(If a re-post, please don't shout, I'm getting on a bit and the memory's gone.) :)

I remember this one from back then:

Great pic Ed.
Where do you remember seeing that back in the day?
Was it the usual media coverage though, that once a fashion is advertised in the paper or a magazine, its soon taken on by the masses, so time to opt out?

Oh great, now we'll have mod revivalists looking everywhere for sheepskins! :D

hmmmm...

Going back to Randy Cozens the book does carry his top 100 soul records, some of which I had forgotten or didn't really know at the time. It may also be worth buying for some of the other mod/skinhead cross-over content, some beautiful pics of Twiggy and so on.

Great pics Paul, note the lad in the braces, his trousers with the single front pleat and cash pocket, Most bespoke suits would be this style around 69, a clear carry over from the Mods, Flat fronted trousers was available but mostly Off the peg.

Roy, not doubting what you say about trousers being pleated. But you are the only one who has ever said that about Skinheads wearing pleated trousers who i know. I always thought skinheads wore flat fronted trousers only. I have never liked pleated trousers personally, so will stick with the flat fronted. Also i seem to remember you saying about the back pleat on your shirts, you preffered them not sewn in, again you are the only one who has ever said that.

Not doubting what you are saying mate as you know more than me as you was out and about in those days. But its new to me.

For those unfamiliar with 'Tumblr' - you can see everything, in one place, by going to the 'Archive'.

that's my mate's blog, good fella. REALLY into proper gear, not just the usual new breed stuff. For a younger guy very clued up, the scene would do well with more fellas like him around.
