Kids today can't escape from it: it is a very different world to the one I grew up in.
For me, if something's easy then it isn't worth having. I never did get the hang of swimming with the tide!
When we went Skinhead,it was against the "Establishment".Long Hair was accepted, bloody hell the Beatles were loved by Mums(though mine liked the Stones).Nobody has an "original" thought. My Nephew(25)still lives with his bloody Mother.Me,I had gone by the time I was 19.
Not only is Little Queenie ultra smart she is unique.
That, for me, is part of the appeal of Skinhead: it was rebelling against the establishment, but also against the 'accepted' counterculture of the time: hippy. Embracing some traditional mores, yet flipping others onto their heads. Maybe that's its enduring appeal to you original Skinheads, despite the other fashions you evolved through this one draws you back.
Mutual appreciation, Roy!
What's all this then, some bleedin' Skinhead love-in?
It is a funny thing,I do want to go back to Skinhead.I was there then. What I try and do is combine Mod Influence with Skinhead.
Just what I was going to say!!
I think the next York will be interesting. We have got to know each other more now. Bring it on!!!
From what I have seen of Little Queenie, and it is only in pictures, I would say she has embraced all that is the very best about that period - nothing too extreme and always very tastefully done.
Believe me,when you have met Little Queenie in the Flesh-there is more!!!
Yep not only that their is gonna be a few more members from this thread turning up, cant wait,
