    My very first pair of Hipsters was-Half the Leg was Blue(front) and the other Half was Grey(back),the other Leg was opposite Colours.Paid 84/- for them!Bought from "Donis" in Carnaby Street.

    I was just thinking Colin, Think i wore hipsters maybe 64? Paul Jones[Manfred Mann] wore them so i got me Mum to get me a pair they was check with flapped pockets on the front instead of the rear, they came with a Black & White plastic belt,:D

    Alright chaps, some great stuff this past week or so, just catching up.

    Hello to the new lads.

    Circustavern777's photos were great as was Ed's essay - like reading Spike Milligan, brilliant.

    I've posted this before, '66 I think. Note in photo that the ID bracelet is so heavy, he can't pick his arm up.

    Cheap, chrome (?) plated and turned yer wrist green. Far out.


    What about the striped nylon watch straps? Were they 'in' briefly?

    I had some great hipsters made (shirts always came untucked when you wore them though - very 60s!) Great big belt loops and a thick belt to go with it, great look.

    THATS good info , i now remember b4 i went skin i liked the regentcy jackets, i had a check one my mum got me out of one of the catalogs it was prob not the real mcoy but similar also i had hipsters with the front slit pockets and im sure i had a blue and white stripe elastic belt i had bright mauve shirt that i got from a mens shop at the bottom of angel lane market in stratford can see it now looking at all the shirts long pointed collars in bright greens, lilacs, dark reds oranges i remember getting a real narrow floral tie it had a black background and green small flowers i never had one but did you wear the floral tab collar shirts with matching ties, also denim shirts not hippy but light blue smart denim shirts i seem to remember wearing this b4 turning SKINHEAD

    MY OLD MAN WAS IN HOSPITAL AROUND DEC 69 I THINK WOULD HAVE JUST GOT TIGHTEN UP WAS PROBALY GOING OUT TO PLAY IT I REMEMBER THAT SHIRT WERNT BD BUT A SMART SHIRT THEM BRACES WERE IM SURE NARROWER THAN 1/2 INCH
