1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'am not in the photo, The two lads back either side was good mates of mine, Pat and Gerry RIP, the lad in the middle i think is Noel.
The lad front middle is Eddie, cant remember the names of the two others.
Gerry was a well know face for years at Chelsea, sadly stabbed to death three years ago aged 56..sticking up for someone in a Kilburn Pub. Gerry was a small lad with a lot of balls, he never showed any fear when it came to a fight, a lad you could always rely on.

I have wrote a lot on this thread about the Kilburn Mob yankmod.:)

Two completely different subjects. (1) Was there a craze for putting two tone laces, perhaps red/black or yellow/black in your brogues around the same time that Blakeys and segs were being worn? (2) Anyone ever seen or hear of washing up liquid bottles, or Jif lemon containers, filled with ammonia being used by skins at the match? Seem to remember press claims that this was a late 60’s/early 70’s skinhead weapon at football. Sounds horrific, even worse than dart throwing!

Nice to see that famous photo in colour.

No info for this one unfortunately.

Sorry M-o-M, it's impossible to find who owns the copyright for these photos, they've been nicked so many times it's impossible to find out where they originally came from. (I've found some of yours (and mine) on quite a few sites too)

    Now then.......

    What about Army greatcoats? :D

Definitely no coloured laces in Manchester, 1969-70.

We wanted to look smart and, dare I say it, business-like... coloured laces would have looked to incongruous and out-of-step to our lot.

Heard the old amonia tales - never witnessed anything of the sort, though.

Photo taken inside one of the Palais Dancehalls.[/quote]The Ritz, in Manchester, had a sprung dancefloor and was a regular haunt for hundreds of us at weekends.

Always a good few scraps as crews from different areas came together and tried to nick each others' birds.

IIRC, the bouncers - not doormen - were properly team-handed and never the types of blokes you could reason with.

That said, from time to time, they would pick on the wrong people, and occasionally had to take their face(s) and teeth, home in a hankie.

Still there, in the city centre and the 'grab-a-granny nights' were - and maybe still are - the stuff of many a young man's (wet) dreams. :nodding:
