It is one those areas that seems to need more research. Bunty's brother - help!

Definitely not mods/rockers - think more late skinhead era perhaps 1971 or later judging by the jeans (Falmers? on the lad doing the can-can). I think it's a football brawl otherwise why such a diverse mix of clothing/street style?

I have to say one of the very best pairs I ever had was a beatle type boot but cut a little lower and the elastic was more elongated along the side. They were a thing of beauty to me in about 1965.

    Football Fans!

The only time we went against a Black was not because of his Colour, but the fact that his Mob of Skins(of whom he was the Leader) wanted to take our Turf. That was never going to happen.

I wore heavy Brogues, with Jeans,Dunlop Green Flashes(in Summer-`68).Suede Shoes, not Hush Puppies, that had a similar Sole to Desert Boots. This was between `66 and `67.There was a Shoe Shop that sold rounded toed Shoes with a raised Apron(a forerunner of the later Solatios and Royal Gibsons). These were all Leather-I cannot remember the Shop but it was along the lines of Ravel. This was `66/`67.Apart from that ,mostly Brogues.

Just got to say after 71 I can remember certain items of clothing, but to be honest i find it hard to date what i wore at that time, Once the regimented Skinhead cloths ended ..it was like a free for all, with styles that changed every weekend, I had more cloths after 71 than at anytime, but most of it went in the bin after a few weeks.:D

The thing is I don't think these are the same Solatio's that John's taking about and Bunty's brother is wearing in that picture. Might've been the tail end of mod influence, the continental style solatio's, since contintental flavour was their thing, at least I can't come on up on any particular skinhead piece of clothing that's from the europe continent of origins?
