    Stuart Goddard aka Adam Ant in his book when talking about his skinhead days mentioned Dunlop Red Flash trainers.

    Would you still roll up your jungle green trousers to let float just above the trainers (a clean break)?

    That was taken at the same time as the famous Chelsea Christmas Card. They are all the same people and wearing the same clothes.

    Surely Wearing any footwear other than boots with Jungle greens would look wacky, I did not see any Skinhead anywhere wearing Plimpsoles,Trainers or the like in the 60s, I do remember Dunlope Green flash though.. Punks wore em in 76.:)

    I must have a look at Stuart Goddards book i have a copy on me bookshelve.

    Hmm so no turn up, but would they have a clean break over the shoes? Or would they all down to the shoes.

    @Roy
    I read it from your scans from the book.

    Think about it Jungle Greens are Army kit, So its natural to wear boots, also by 69 Jungle greens was hardly seen,
    Also in 68 no one wore shoes, :D it was all boots even to go to school in.

    Save me going to my bookshelve, I see what he is saying, interesting about the Dunlops , The only sports type footwear i ever saw in the 60s was Plimsoles worn in the school gym.

    I can only say for myself Jungle greens was only worn with boots, Think about it they was high up on the boot, so if you wore them with shoes you would have to turn them down, :D Or have a spare pair especially for shoes, but in 68 no one wore shoes, except school shoes that no one wore anyway.:)

    I've been interested in trying a pair of Jungle Greens myself, but I find green trousers a hard color to combine with, maybe if they fade to a lighter color it would be easier. I think I might try the maroon sweat shirts you mentioned Roy or a white fred perry shirt and a nicely faded levi jean jacket.

    You would have precisely what I was wearing in `68-the Levi Jacket was not so faded though!

    Sounds good mate, i also mostly wear Fred Perry's or the like with my Jungle greens these days, Shirts just don't look right with Jungle Greens, Back in the 60s we wore these nylon Bomber type jackets with the Greens, people call them Monkey jackets these days.

    The maroon sweat shirt looks cool, we also cut the arms off for the summer.

    Were the monkey Jackets the ones that had the plain collar and cuffs Roy? I remember the Blue ones.
