I like it! (could do with a little 'tweaking' tho)
Wasn't aware of this album - will have to check it out. Early Rancid were great.
To be fair to Lars, I don't think this is his first dabble into skinhead inspired clothing.
Maybe he has turned his back on the 'Motorhead' T-shirts, and Day-Glo bolier suits. :)

Shaving off your mo-hawk, and swapping 'cut off' studded leather jackets and bleached jeans for sta-prest and button downs is a way of growing old gracefully when you're a punk [IMG]

Being a skinhead and trying not to look like a hooligan when your in your late 30's - 40's is the trick.

I'd rather see skinhead pack it up and die off than to have a new generation of "mall skins" via Lars.

I second that. I just don't buy into his "new phase" & I never did like Rancid or anything related to them. I understand that he was into Ska/Reggae & Oi during his youth but I don't get why he would go from punk rocker to skinhead at age 40...... lol and he has SKUNX tattooed on his forehead people! It would of been nice if he didn't have all that money & was in his mid 20s at the least while sporting the look. I mean with all that money he has made all these years, it's pretty easy to market himself as a "skinhead figure".
Plus, I really don't think he's trying to grow old gracefully with the look:

Usually it's Mall punks but in this case, I see why GS used it as Mall skins. It's like saying someone that gets drawn into something by way of TV, radio & magazines that are selling it as the "hype thing to do", thus having easy access to obtain the said hype at commercial friendly establishments(i.e. The Mall).

Its right up there with the "mall rats" (mall punks) of the 90s and the kids who got into that kind of music by way of Rancid and commercial radio in the 90s and the "skunk" bands ofcourse. The so-called "ska-punk" fusion bands of the same era.

No problem. We yanks usually talk in slang so I don't think it's you that needs to improve your English

I forgot to put that the radio is another way to spread the hype.... I'll have to re-edit it :embar: . I never did like the 3rd wave of ska, at least not the 99% of it(if you can even call it ska since it's pretty much just punk rock with trumpets).

Hello mate, Butlins is a chain of 'holiday camps' in the UK, considered naff now but many people used to holiday there because they were relatively cheap and cheerful. My brother and his mates used to go frequently throughout the 60s, taking part in all the sports/competitions for a laugh. The main attraction was the disco every night , cheap beer and girls. They used to take a record player and have parties in the chalets afterwards too (bet that went down well :D)

    How's the knee Brownie?
