Remember the Tunes, some good ones there.
I remember hearing this song, quite a few years ago.Never knew the Last Resorts` version.
Thanks for posting this Jason, I never knew the Last Resort's song was based on an older original. So now I just have to get that original record somewhere.
Has this pic already been posted on this thread?:
I found it on this site(Interesting to me): http://edenbraybray.wordpress.com/2011/02/18/99/
Don't think this other pic has been posted on this thread(if it has then sorry for the double post ):
Is it Original?
The photo was shared under the title: GERRY - DICKIE - TYLER (Butlins 1969)
I've always been wondering if Bunty's bro know more about this lot? Or was he just visiting in those pictures taken in Butlins?
That other picture, great find!
Hope you'll recover soon, mate
Good initiative. someone must really kickstart something to activate the youth of today,
Alas, they may be too far gone....
I witnessed a group of three attractive, talented and very nice young people the other evening at a friend's house. They were all sitting in the lounge, the telly was on but they were texting, looking at their iphone or surfing on a laptop. Each was sitting curled up under a duvet thing, although fully clothed. After a while I spotted a fourth laying on the floor also under a duvet!
As brownie says there was no communication between them - although they may have all been communicating with absent friends of course!
Where and when did it all change? I think our old mate Elmsey attempts to pinpoint the moment in the Way we Wore. Must look it up again.
The top pic captures some of the truth about the style. 3-piece suit (see recent discussions on this thread), the tie undone as a key part of the look, pocket hank, the jacket top button only fastened, no shirt cuff showing and the correct length of trouser. It was always thought slightly vulgar then to show cuff when standing still. Also, the shoes that just stop short of looking too big with a suit IMO.
^^ i thought he is maybe wearing a short sleeve shirt under that suit because he is showing no cuff, because his jacket sleeve is not long and ends just shy of his wristbone (as it should). if he is wearing a long sleeve shirt it must be quite short in arms for him.
Its hard to get the detail as the pic is a little faded, I am not sure if its a waist coat he has on, Its possible this suit was bought off the peg, and not a skinhead suit, just a three button suit altered.
The jacket is to short for what we wore, the trousers seem tapered in and skinny... we wore a more parallel trousers, the one trouser pleat was popular.
Plus the suit looks like it needs a press,
Is it me or is the Picture is from the 80s?Something about the Back Door and the Bin-look a bit modern to me(and the Tiles).
Thanks Mate,on the slow Road to recovery.
yes it looks like he's clearly wearing a waistcoat on my monitor
Joking apart,he looks a scruffy Geezer! The Suit is too small. No self respecting Skinhead would walk about with his Suit looking like he has slept in it.As Roy says, the Legs are too narrow for proper Trousers. The Tie(even though undone) would still looked smart-not just a piece of rag.
