Haha yea, I spotted Harrysgame's post about the jumpers and I'll second that notion, they're not bad at all!
They're doing it right in my opinion, a lot of their gear looks great! For the prices, you get good looking, well made garms, instead of the tat you get from a lot of other generic high street clothes shops.
One thing I am looking for is a good chunky cardy with pockets, for winter. Loot in Brighton had some nice ones, but not with pockets.
I saw these 'sangknit' cardigans on ebay, : http://tinyurl.com/3ncr54h . They look decent to me, was sangknit acceptable, back in the heyday?

Also does anyone know anything about Levi's white tab? I got a pair of sta-prest from the indoor market when I was in Shrewsbury and managed to haggle them for what, £15 or something. The bloke running the stall told me if I sold them on I could probably get upwards of £100 for them (not that I'm going to of course). I was just wondering if white tab stuff is really that rare.

I posted something about Levi's white tabs before but it says my comments need to be approved cuz i'm a new member (but the last one posted fine), so here we go again, were white tab sta-prest pretty rare? The fella on the stall I got mine (cream colour) from said I'd be able to fetch £100+ for them if i resold them (which I'm not going to anyway). I've got a pair of orange tab (not sta-prest) 80s levi's too, and now I'm interested in what the deal is with tab colour.

I'm losing my marbles here along with half my reference material. Can anyone give me the following information:

    1. The precise date for Chris Welch's 1969 article in Now its a mod, mod, mod, mod world in 'Melody Maker'?

    2. The precise page in Robert Elms' The Way We wore for the following references -
Where he first says he copied his big brother's look.
Where his big brother first used the term 'Peanut' for his hairstyle.
The famous episode of three blokes knocking on the door and asking to see his brother.

    Thanks.

    M-o-M

    Welcome captbovver!
I'm probably wrong, but to my understanding white tabs were late 70's.
They do re-surface now and then tho in re-issues. The levi's Italian sta-prest jackets from a few years ago are white tab. All my modern sta-prest are black and gold tab or red tab.
Orange tabs levis jeans were cheaper alternatives to the red tabs in late 80's and through the 90's in my experience. Still good jeans, and nice to have vintage.

I need to check out M&S (knitwear range) maybe it's not a pensioner retailer after all. ha ha.

P.s. you are not alone in spilling Guinness on shirts. I spill it on my BEST shirts most weekends [IMG]

    Hello Roy - That's a Derek and Clive line isn't it?

By the way, have we had 'Pinheads' as a pre-skin name?

The episode you are talking about is British Style Genius about Skinheads. Robert Elms was in it as was Alan Morlock. I think it was the third episode.

yes he talks about it in BSG, but he writes about it as well in his "The Way we Wore" book, which I'm assuming MoM needs for a footnote in the book
