Y'know, I think we have, quite unintentionally, established 'Ivy-with-Edge' as a look for old blokes! :D :D

Looks like a good day out, gutted I'm not living in England or have the money to travel there. Would've like to been there and meet you lot face to face for once. Maybe I'll get an opportunity to shake a hand with one of you at one of Jim Cox's do's if plans to visit them ever fall through.

Veering slightly off topic, I am looking for a pair of comfortable shoes to go with my all-time favourite autumn casual jacket.

    It's a copy USAF leather blouson (A-2)...

... and I am looking for a pair of shoes in the same dark brown. They must be comfortable but not look like Cornish pasties. Ideally they should hint at mod/skinhead style, but because the jacket itself isn't strictly speaking in the style the shoes don't have to be 'authentic'. They can be brogues, loafers, plains, gibsons, even boots or riders, or something that simply looks right with this jacket and jeans. Any suggestions? Preferably UK high street stock if possible.

The closest I have seen so far has been 'Rockport' from John Lewis, Doc Martens 'Gaucho Crazy Horse' (those hint at boots, non-shiny leather), Or maybe Loake Buckinghams. Any other candidates?
