My ex-in-laws still had antimacassars on their couches well into the 90s.

"antimaccassars" I had to look that up, when I was a nipper the old girls used to call them "chair doilies"

Is there a difference between the proper Ivy cut and the 'skinhead collegeboy' cuts seen circa 1968/69? @Man-of-Mystery recently told me the tendency was for the same hair length all over. But the original Ivy cut is often dubbed 8-4-2, which implies differences in length.

Here's another Ivy League cut: the Harvard.

They all look like the 'short back and sides' haircut to me, just variations on how short at the back and sides and how long on the top.

Yup - there's different hair lengths and tapering, and in the picture I posted earlier the hair fades to nothing in the back. Is that not how some skins had their hair cut in the 60s?

Just had a google of "short back and sides" to find the results look nothing like I remember it. It wasn't clippered, it had a smooth transition, was still fairly short on top and it did have a parting.

Yes, in our decade so-called undercuts have taken over. It's the stereotypical hipster hairstyle, which I believe was originally inspired by the 'Mad Men' TV series and is now ubiquitous beyond hipsterdom. No smooth transitions there.

Anyway, I'm still wondering if the picture/graphic I posted resembles 60s skinhead haircuts or if skins wore less refined 'same length all over' versions of the Ivy league cut (without the tapering, fading, etc).
