The guy with the shades next to the kid in PoW strides looks like Christopher Moltisanti from The Sopranos.

You can usually find the real wrangler versions of those on eBay for a decent price.

indeed really rocking that NY look but for me the kid with what appear to be made to measures / oxford and loafers is really the style icon . Mind you a lot of Faces were 'up the lane ' in the 70s and 80s .

I always like a pair of prince of wales strides, more so then tonic/mohair strides. I find they go well with a crombie and a plain shirt and they also go well with a more casual jacket like a trucker imo.

I think the black dude with the shades wearing the rain coat with a tank top looks bad ass.

Messed up my original post. Of the first two, I like the Ben Sherman better.

But I love the Hathaway collar.

    Mine's 3" at the front, 1 1/2" at the back. What's yours?

So what's your current thinking on the ideal length for collars?

It's got to be somewhere between 3 and 3.5"
The neck band plays a big roll too (so to speak).
Wider neck band will make the collar appear taller or bigger even if the collar is not that big. I think when neck bands taper really narrow at the front it accentuates the roll of the collar, especially if the collar has a longer point. But I may be wrong.

I find that the placement of the collar button holes, and the distance between them and the point tips, also affects my liking of a shirt.
    (Shorter being more preferable)
