Maybe the size of the inside collar patches varied?

Someone was selling an original 60s 'big E' Levi's trucker on ebay the other week. You can still see the outlines of where the patch once was (both on the inside collar and above the chest pocket). Looks like a smaller size, as seen on the Skinhead Moonstomp cover.

I would think it would be safe to assume that all of them were done in practice, most vintage levi jackets with big e have had the large jean style patch, but there is always variation of some kind.

I personally think the big patch looks better, especially when the patch isnt faded.

Bleaching started with mods in the 60's done to make Levi's look worn then it was taken to the extremes in the 80's.

Nothing wrong with those pants at all, I have just been talking to some originals & they loved that cut.

Patches: It strikes me also that these might have been taken from an old jacket / pair of strides. Duh me.

Yeah, not a fan of the old bollock stranglers. bleached denim like that makes me think of a painter and decorators work clobber for some reason.

This was recently posted in another forum: West London band The Eyes in 1966. Note the '80s looking' bleachers - apparently a mod fashion as early as 1964.

By the way, the skinhead talking to the girl in Kenny 74's second picture is Deptford John Armitage of Combat 84.
