1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Keeping on the 1966 summer theme, a nice photo, not that relevant, but a nice picture anyway.
(Remember the tradition of fiddling with those overhead air blowers (that did bugger all) emptying the contents of the chrome ashtray on the back of the seat onto yourself, and the smell of sweaty cheese sandwiches and vomit? Nice.)

I went to the second Night. It was funny walking up the Stairs, the Area where the Re-Union was part of the old Club.Unfortunately, the present Owners decided against Bobby Gallocker(whose Brother Golly was the original Club Dj)using the Premises again.I wait and see what happens now.

I don't either, roytonboy. But in the mid- to late-seventies - in the bootboy/ white butcher coat era - there were the Kippax Kool Kats. Particularly remember seeing them at away games. One of them put out a book about their exploits a few years ago.

Yes I think you are right. Might be in the US. California had a bit of a 'Mod' Scene in the early 80's.

The Untouchables and the Los Angeles Mod Scene

Love the comment "China, the mod movement's big there" !?!

Actually the Untouchables had a bit of a cameo in the movie "Repo Man" as a "scooter gang"...:)

It seems you're permitted to ride a scooter in California at a lot younger age than here in the UK

Eddie Piller said he spent 2 years working on a Pete Meaden bio but eventually gave up for some reason. Looks like someone else is taking over. Would be very interesting not only the Who stuff but after that he managed Jimmy James and the Vagabonds. According to their Facebook page it comes out in August.

Nice shot of him from the FB page I hadn't seen before used for the cover - looking at it closer I think it is two photos in one:

Just went into a second-hand bookshop and found out that Geno Washington wrote a novel.

Im not suprised Eddie Pillar quit. It must be a hell of a task researching a cult figure whose heyday was 50 years ago and died 40 years back. Being outside the main public domain I doubt there's much documented material to include.
I saw Jimmy James at a Soul Weekend- Butlins Bognor. I use the term saw very loosely, due to being in an advanced state of refreshment, but woke up the next morning with Now is the Time playing over in my sore head
