CBS will televise MMA in prime time beginning this spring. Definitely a big step, but I'm not sure I want America associating MMA with Kimbo Slice, who is EliteXC's big star.

I still like Kimbo Slice though I found his street fights significantly more entertaining than his fight with Abbott. I'd hate to get hit by that guy.

MMA going network should be interesting.

This could be a bad thing for MMA. What the sport needs is major sponsorship contracts but this may not be the route. I see a big potential for more people to be offended by whats still largely considered glorified barbarism. That and I really dont want MMA to become the next WWE or a proliferation of reality TV shows like BET's MMA show or that Fighting Fedor crap.

Remember some years back when Abbott had a mud hole stomped in his a$$ by some squat mexican guy who was built like a Fridge? Abbott wouldn't let go of the chain link cage and the guy beat his brains out. Did that guy ever become somebody? We keep hearing about Tank and he got destroyed that night.

I'm not too stoked on it going mainstream... I already see way too many douchebags walking around with TapOut tshirts and Chuck Liddel style haircuts.

As long as MMA clothing doesn't go mainstream i'll be fine (would hate to give up all my tapout and affliction shirts)
