Aren't Trickers cheap shoes?

If by cheap you mean "of poor quality" then no as they are very good quality at the price point. If by cheap you mean "in monetary terms" then again no as they are priced at roughly the same price point as Bench Grade Crockett & Jones which in shoe terms is far far more than the genral population pay for shoes.

Looks like he's been shop lifting for shoes. Silliness in the extreme

Port and Starboard?

indeed. Semiotics, signs and signifiers is a pet hobby of mine. The idea came from looking at futurist fashions from the 20s. Im thinking about adapting and adopting futurist suits as well. I don't expect to sell them, but I would have fun wearing them in the right context.

really? in what sense is it a waste of money? wooster owns a consulting firm and shoes like that gets his face plastered all over blogs, thus driving business to him.

I cannot argue with this. In fact, I'm sure he would be thrilled to have people outraged . . . well, not exactly outraged as I, at least, can barely muster vague disdain . . . anyway, he would be thrilled to have people discussing anything about him, whether positively or negatively, so long as they are talking about him.

In this respect, he is no different than Lady Gaga wearing pork chops or Howard Stern doing anything. He wants to be noticed and get people talking. But that means that there is no point whatsoever in posting his looks on SF where posters, with the possible exception of Spoo, are not going for the "Look at Meeeeee!" aesthetic.

In any case, his looks are way more appropriate to SW&D than they are here. Call us stuffy, but leopard-print pants are not in the canon.
