I just saw these on the Gap website:

I might spring for the roll up military looking shirt.

I wonder how fitted they really are.

If GAP press releases are to be trusted, he designed these shirts.

Ah interesting, he never mentioned this to me.

Quote from interview: "I'm so proud to be able to do this with Gap." -- Michael Bastian.

Well...I'm still excited to see the (re)launch of Bill Blass menswear under his direction.

What's he supposed to say? "It kind of sucked having to water down a couple of designs for the sake of a Gap gimmick."

As I said on the other thread, camp shirt seems like a nice, inexpensive summer shirt, western not so much.

I'm not complaining. The GAP is as close as I can get to a Michael Bastian shirt. Actually, that's not even true as none of the GAP stores in my area (actually: state) will be carrying the men's shirts.

I agree that the western is kinda yuck, and I think the button sleeve shirt is somewhat interesting.

The quote is just a little bit over the top though. Proud? Really? I'm not sure how these design collections work, but I imagine he was either (a) forced into this through some contractual obligation or (b) lured to it by a pile of money. Or maybe he is just really honored to have his clothing sold in local malls throughout the US.

It's also identical to every other military styled roll up sleeve shirts that have been done for decades.

LOL...that was my intention. I have to agree that the western looks like something I'd wipe my ass with.
