Ever watch the short-lived series Fastlane? Miami Vice for the 21st century.

My guilty style icon [IMG] , 4 years old and the mainstream is just catching up to what they had on the show.

Couldn't find a good still from the show, but this promo should work.

From what I've heard from people In the fashion industry in the 80's and "still in" There was the "Miami and Vegas Look" pastel shirts shark skin suits and even "notch" single breasted lapels on db suits, heavy shoulder pads with silk vibrant shirts. This was to such an extreme that it was those two cities and not to be done anywhere else. Those cities with the MV look were unique and maybe that contibutes to the stylization and popularity of that show.

It's those puffy white sneakers with the skinny black jeans I've been meaning to talk to you about...

And while you're at it, say something to that "Hedi Slimane" fellow...

i must say rico tubbs, at least if you consider the fashion environment of the 80s, had better style.

I agree 100%. Tubbs was a total pimp in those double-breasted jackets and white shoes.

There was some series on VH1 or E! a year or two ago about different people's obsessions. One guy was completely obsessed with Miami Vice and still sported the head-to-toe look with his clothing. The cameras followed him around as he prepared for his MV-themed wedding, where his fiance surprised him with a guest appearance by the actor who played Rico Tubbs. The sad thing was the guy seemed to lose all interest in his fiance as soon as the actor showed up....

Ok. Just brought home a nice pair of light (pastel) blue cotton flat fronties. Any ideas what to wear with them (besides the obvious white blazer). [IMG] DO YOU ROCK YOUR PASTELS OR NOT?
