Hi everyone,

This is a great sight and I would be very appreciative of your recommendations...

I just ordered a pair of camel-bone Mezlan shoes
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP.dll?...e=STRK:MEWN:IT

I have read a few reviews about Mezlan shoes and most were unfavorable. I was under the impression that Mezlan was a good company that made a good, stylish shoe but certainly doesnt compare to high end hand made shoes.

So I am asking for advise on the clothing that would work well with these shoes...casual? color of pants? jeans? sport jacket? etc.

Thanks for your input.

Never had any experience with Mezlan, but you'll have to judge them for yourself. The guys here on SF are shoe fetishists. For them, if it's not Allen Edmonds, Lobb, or bespoke, it's crap.

That said, I would never buy any shoes without trying them on first. Comfort is everything.

You need to spend a little more time here, I think.

Don't like those shoes even at a lower price point. Kinda 80's..90's Miami Vice.
I wouldn't wear them with a suit/jeans/etc.

Not a fan of the white on those shoes.

However, if I did wear them it'd probably be with jeans and a casual shirt and a nice belt OFC.

Those are some really ugly shoes (and it's not because they're two-tone, I own some spectators myself).

I may return them if I feel that they are not right for me.

But the question I have is still...what clothes would look good with these shoes???

I would wear them with jeans or khakis.

I've never owned a pair of Mezlans so I can't comment on the quality. From a selfish point of view, I'd like it if you kept them and posted a review on how you feel about their quality.

I kind of like the shoes myself. They are a bit less conservative than people on this site would tend to go for but that's ok.

Good luck...keep us posted.

Sorry, I tried to imagine liking these shoes so I could think of what to wear them with, but I failed.

Try them with khakis or light colored linen pants and a brightly colored sport shirt at a backyard barbecue or cocktail party

Mezlans have terrible leather. I bought a pair on Ebay and have regretted it ever since. I have only worn them a couple times. I think they will be relegated to snowy days.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
