metal detecting as a hobby

I could see this being the subject of a King of the Hill. When I was little, I lived close to the beach and wanted to get a metal detector. Then again, I also thought I would find cool piratey stuff buried in the sand--now I'll never know. :/

my freind found a Cartier watch in naples florida
