Menswear Shops Closings? Rumors??

Has anyone heard that VENANZI on 56th betwn 5th and 6th has closed its doors?? I've haven't been past the shop in quite a while.. I hate to say it doesn't surprise me that during this hardship of economic times a lot of better menswear shops may be closing there doors. Which is a shame. Has there been any other great local or national menswear specialty shops that have fallen to this market downturn?

Rumor on a couple of other forums that "authorities" closed it this week. Again- just what I've seen on the web.

I walked past the shop the other day and saw it was completely empty. No displays, no stock of any kind inside from what I could gather from the front door. While Gene had his fair share of detractors, he had really beautiful items and was always nothing other than a gentlemen to me. I wish him well.

Kaps. One store in Andover, MA. Went to a three store chain in the late 90's. Prime source for HS&M and H-F. They've been struggling for a while. Now gone.
