With winter fast approaching (atleast here in the Northeast) I figured it is time to revamp my winter accessories. I want to get a few different styles of gloves (leather dressy, leather casual, knit, driving gloves) a few different hats and a couple of scarves but not really familiar with brands/quality in this area of clothing. I just picked these up from NM last call... the brown ones with the buckel

I really like these rag and bone ones pictured here, they are like crochet with leather driving gloves, not out yet though and they'll prob be around $250-$300 which I am not 100% sure I want to spend on driving gloves:

anyother ideas, especially interested in gloves and scarves

Glove price (excluding the brand name itself, which will jack up the price by a lot) is dependent on : amount of handwork, leather type, and lining type.

I happen to have a pair of peccary leather brown/bark colored, alpaca lined glove in size 9 or Large for sale, unworn.

Check Sierra Trading for scarves. They often have some nice Scottish options. Ben Silver usually has a nice collection. The Drake's website probably has some, and the usual suspects like Paul Stuart and Ralph Lauren.

Get a high-tech glove to contrast with your tailored clothing and get a sea otter hat....a rarity.

I have some cashmere scarves from STP and I'd recommend the Barbour. The Johstons of Elgin and the Altea scarves were coarse.

I would not say that cashmere holds up better than the wools or merino but what you might want to consider is a knitted scarf over a woven which will certainly last longer in your case.

I picked up two Johstons of Elgin scarves from STP last winter and they've been ok, not great.

Are those the cashmeres or the wools? I dont understand the "retail prices" on STP. They are 100 for a cashmere scarf (Johnston) with dimensions of 71 x 10. How can that be? Any decent cashmere scarf those dimensions should retail for 3 times that.
