Hey all,
I'm off to NYC on Thursday and will be doing quite a bit of shopping while there... I'm young and want to know the best places to shop outside of the usual designer stores eg/ dolce, YSL, etc(unless they're unusual or special). I'll definately shop at Bergdorf's and Barney's, but any other tips?
Cheers,
Pete

Try Camouflage on 17th & 8th Ave. They sell Helmut Lang, Burberry, Etro, and other European brands. And they still have a bunch of stuff left over on sale...

I forgot too...there's also Bagutta on West Broadway SoHo, if you can afford it. For men they sell hLam, Prada, Dolce, Helmut Lang, Dior, YSL and other expensive European brands. I've also encountered tons of attitude there from the staff.

Check out Atrium on Broadway and Bond St. It has the best selection of jeans imo; Diesel, PD&C, Energie, Levi Premium, etc...

Many salespeople aren't friendly until they're sure you're going to buy something. Usually salespeople are friendly but sometimes I get the "I have more important things to do" vibe. Its either I'm completely ignored or they are annoying as hell. Oh and I don't like how sometimes they just pop out of nowhere and yell "HI.". When I go shopping I like to look around and not have salespeople tell me what I should wear or what looks good on me.
