You can use those shops to try on hats to determine what shapes look best on you. Once you have brim and crown measurements you can buy online at a savings.

Good advice, though I would buy a brush or something at the shop, if you can afford it, to support the in some way.

Yeah, or when people ask you where you bought your hat (and they will) you can direct them to the shop. Seems like an equitable arrangement.

    Excellent advise

    Will definitely drop by there

I always feel I might be disturbing by walking in asking questions and buy a small item

Same applies when I pass by Savile Row. At times I want to drop in have a brief chat with the staff I'm sure some are stiff bored when the shops are not busy so it makes sense what you guys have advised

I've visited hundreds of tailors over the years and have found that they are usually glad to have people walk in off the street, even if just for a browse. However, if you want to engage them in conversation it would be best to avoid the lunch hours when they are at their busiest.

Hi mcarthur. I am going to get a couple of Optimo hats because of your postings here. Are your ones the "Chicago" model?

Finally got a shot of the hat I want. It's Oxblood with a Navy trim. I am getting it as a Homburg (as worn by Narcisse) and in the Chicago model too. And I would like to add that Tiffini of Optimo is a pleasure to deal with. Mid-December delivery.
