What was your first pair of high quality denim jeans? Mine was probably a $200 pair of Diesel Zathan that I bought in '01. Everybody had a pair of these - the vintage blue torn up ones. They were okay then but now I look back and I shake my head because they were kinda ugly. http://s7d2.scene7.com/is/image/Urba...d?$detailmain$

Evisu purchased in Antwerp circa 1998. Worn unwashed first year in all kinds of New York weather. Probably worn half dozen times in the past 5 years. Kept in the wardrobe for sentimental value.

a pair of sevens, if you consider that high end...back in my college days ('03 to be exact)

its funny how i considered them kind of fitted back then, whereas now, they would feel like mc hammer pants...i have since sold them for 30 bucks

About to be some APC NS in about 2 months. Until then I am just rarely wearing denim. Usually either Levi's 505s or some Express X2s.

I think my first pair of expensive denim was a pair of sevens years ago until I finally got wise and stopped wasting money on garbage.

I remember wearing a pair of Zathans 2 sizes bigger than my true waist for the first time and being asked 'Did you paint those jeans on or something?'.

Levi's Skinner. They were way tighter than I was expecting, but I liked them. Haven't touched them like a year and a half though.

Diesel Kratt, 2000. Had just spent 6 months in London, and I definitely thought I was awesome. Those were good looking jeans, though--no distressing; straight no nonsense cut.

A pair of Diesel Zathans. I had 4 or 5 pairs of Diesels a few years ago, and it's still a brand that I like -- there's a pair of Zathan's called 83L that I would kill for in my size -- but then I bought a pair of APC Rescues. Hated the cut, bought some RRDS, and it was on from there...

PC Rescues, bought May 2005. Wow, those jeans are over 2 years old now. I still wear them regularly, but never got the ridiculous fades. Must be because I'm an office worker. Before that I was wearing one wash 505s, bought at the local surplus store.
