    j. crew peacoat w/thinsulate in charcoal. size XS. I'm 5'11" 150 lbs 36" chest. Fits surprisingly slim. Much more slim than the university coat. Though at $275 and made in China I'm tempted to order a sterlingwear and save myself $100. Even if I pay to get the sterlingwear altered I'll still come out ahead. Too bad sterlingwear doesn't make a charcoal coat. sorry for the poor image quality [IMG]
. i ordered an xs, thats the fit I want. Thought itd be perfect...daaamn. im 5'10, 130. Worried it'll be too big now and I'll have to get it taken in. Knew I shoulda gone with the sterlingwear.

Don't get too much slimming in your peacoat, guys. Haven't you seen Casino Royale? You think Bond could haved pack his heat (see opening scene) in the slim stuff you guys are wearing?

At least keep in mind enough room for a Walther PPK. And maybe for your travel visa.

I bought the J Crew peacoat in small (5'11 156 lbs~) and i like it. It fits well everywhere but when I strech my arms up...it feels tight. The sleeves arent short though as they do cover my wrists. Should I have gone with a medium or is this normal?

Does the thinsulate add any bulk to the J.Crew peacoat?

    Not that I noticed.

I had the exact same fit. I posted a pic in a medium earlier in the thread, but when I went back to try it on again (just because I was there) I thought it was too big. The small fit much better on me IMO, except for the shoulder tightness.

It was loose enough that I could wear a light sweater or long sleeve under it, though. So I would probably go with the small and sacrifice a little convenience for the improved look.

As long as it's not so bad that you think it's going to rip then I wouldn't worry about it.

Everybody talks about winters in Canada as though that is supposed to mean something; as though across this huge nation every nook and cranny of the place turns into one giant monolithic -50 ice sheet straight across the board.

Like Nunavut, Vancouver, Edmonton, Windsor - they aren't the same winters, right?
