I visited the Meermin store in Madrid last week and to my surprise I found that they stocked models that's not on the web site. I ended up with a pair of brown suede boat shoes and I also got to figure out which size I need in the different lasts.

    Can you share your findings on sizing, and what you are in other shoes? AE/Carmina/Alden etc;

Long-time SF lurker, first time poster.

Could any of you guys help me with a query about Meermin's sizing please?

I have several pairs of C&J and Loake and normally go for a UK10.5 with a G-fit last to accommodate my duck-like feet. I currently have my eye on a pair of Meermin oxfords (Hiro last) - Should I order a 10.5 or will I need to go up to an 11 to compensate for my broad feet and high arches?

I've tried messaging the company but have yet to receive a response. Thanks in advance for an replies.

I'm a 10.5D US and the 9.5 Hiro has just enough width for my pinky toe, but can pinch sometimes. If my feet were wider I think I'd have problems. You might need an 11.

In my experience, I would say you need an US11

I've had 2 Meermin shoes prior to these, they both were Hiro last, if I remember correctly. I need a true EE, while the RUI isn't exactly as wide as say, White's Boots EE, it works well enough it seems...

I've contacted Meermin to see what other shoes would fit like this, but they gave me shitty replies

I went through this morning and checked all of the other shoes and lasts, no other are made on the RUI so I guess I cannot buy anything else from them.

Any suggestions? I want a plain oxford..

Does anyone have any experience with the PORTOL last. I recently purchased the hiro in 11uk and it was a bit too narrow in the waist and toe box. I am considering buying another pair that is 11uk on the portol last. Any help would be great!

Unless the RUI shoes are already too long I'd say you could try a pair of Hiro shoes in +0,5 size. That worked for me.

Not a bad idea. Kind of a gamble having to get them shipped from Spain and all ;/

    Hi,
I am planning to buy classic oxfords either in chestnut antique calf or antique oak calf to wear with a dark navy suit at a friend's wedding.
Any suggestions on which will look better?
    -Thanks

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Chestnut will be a little be more flashy, so it's really going to come down to what you prefer.

I would stick with the darker of the 2. You don't want too much of a contrast between your dark Navy trousers and your shoes. Especially at a wedding where the idea is to blend in and let the couple get all the shine.
