Thank you very much, both of you for your answer.
leetpuma, I am indeed buying blind online, what did you refer to when you said "a ton of research" ? As for the shoe trees, is there any specific model you would recommend for both these pairs or any cedar shoe tree would do ?

You need to read probably 200+pages of this thread find what lasts fit you and how the meermin lasts compare to shoes you already know you fit. IF YOU CANNOT DO THIS do not buy from meermin. You will end up with a badly fitted shoe and returns can be very painful. (And hell even if you do do this you may still get screwed. If you fit allen edmonds C&J carmina.... in a last you may find advice somewhere here that tells you what you can wear in meermin.)

Shoe trees arbitrary just get some cheap cedar woodlore/springline ones for 25$. Shoes trees are not something to stress about. You can get them even after the shoes have arrived...

Loake Capital last would give you a nice fit in the Hiro last from my experience. I would go for 9.5 in Hiro/Olfe if I were you. I have some measurements from Meermin when I was ordering from them. Hope it helps, you can try searching for other lasts in this thread.

Sensible is also a man who lives with an average snowfall of 200in/ 500cm and temps in the -10F/-23C. Shearling is a must for me.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

If you should put together a new run, I would love another pair that are unlined, but not this year for me.

I do as well, but I'll rather use thick wool socks.

Complete opposite from my experience - same size in Loake Capital is slightly too big whilst in the Meermin Hiro is way too small.

Imo they are an alright indicator. 8 in Capital Last = snug in hiro last for me, 8.5 in hiro = much better.

What's wrong with the shoe trees? They seemed similar in price to woodlore ultras. Is the quality or fit poor by comparison?

Assuming you're referring to leetpuma's reply I don't think he's saying there's anything wrong with the trees, but they're not lasted so you'd get the same effect with an $8 sale pair from Jos A Bank that you would from 35EU Meermin trees.

    Guys,

Is Meermin always that bad in communication and deadlines? Order late like a month from their provided final arrival date and response to emails ends with "checking with factory...".
I'm no sad or angry, but rather disappointed with lack of clarity in communication. Was planning to pull trigger on some other their stuff but em, ehh... maybe will change mind once first item will eventually arrive, I hope :)

Never had any bad experience with them. But there are a lot off people complaining about there communication.

You only have to pay half up front...and that's not until the order is confirmed...

    Thank you for the help.
I have been to town today and I have failed to find a shop that would have shoes with a E - or E regular fitting... Some shops even believed that I was looking to buy shoes for a woman rather than myself since the fit is quite shallow according to them.
I will keep on trying regardless as I really like the shoes' design and the quality seems quite decent.
