I would love to be in with the mto but sadly only rui fits me nowadays.

The "Ridgeway" is a more heavily patterned Dainite: [IMG]

David's plan was to offer both the scotchgrain and the calf, with the option of having either for the whole boot, or a mix of both - one for the shaft, one for the vamp as in the EG picture, but either way around as you like it.

Lean towards the Rui - that's a big last in a generous width, and I think you might find the other Meermins a bit tight. You could probably go up half a size with Hiro and Ama, even Olfe, but forget New Rey altogether. I will take no responsibility for ill-fitting shoes you might order following this uninformed advice. :)

Read the "Vass Porn Thread", there might be an alternative MTO on - and a more suitable last. If you like the look of it, PM me. Also, the AS shoes in your sig line - the link says the classified is closed. What's the situation? I might have a swap proposal for you!

@DavidLane , what do you think about trying to make a hybrid Vass MTO instead? It requires fewer people. It will be a bit more expensive, but for arguably a better boot, better service, and no extra charges for different soles/goyser-Norweger stitchin, or wide fittings. I know this is the Meermin thread, but I did mention this MTO in the other one so it's all fair!

Also, maybe Meermin will chip in and lower the number for the MTO requirement if they want to do this. ;)

For me it would not be an option due to the price. I will definitely be into a future order from Vass as they look to be amazing, but as it sits now I would not be able to do it.

Update, we now have 10 so only 5 to go.

You're welcome, and you can still count me in if this flies. But @Meermin should drop their requirement to ten people, and take our money quick. ;)

    Mimo,

I hear that, but apparently it is the minimum from the manufacturer of the Ridgeway Soles.

I will email him and see if he can accept 10. I am with you I am really hoping this will fly.

Finally received the Meermin Copper suede adelaide that was organized by leetpuma. Chose the park last with brass initials, belt, and metal tap toes.

Wanted to extend my thanks and gratitude to leetpuma who organized the GMTO. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

The park last looks fantastic, the fit was awesome, and above all, great value.

    A couple of observations:

    1. The heel on park last is "shapelier" and smaller vs olfe. It's also more difficult to get in. No complaints. I actually prefer this. It's pretty obvious with the comparison picture below.

    2. Toe box volume definitely much smaller vs. olfe - which is just too much for my feet. So again score for this

    3. The copper suede and the lining oh my goodness is just so soft & supple. I wonder what kind of skin they used for the red lining. I really want to know. Another score.

Yeah, looks great thanks for sharing!

How do you feel about the belt? Worth it? Thinking if it's not too late to add one to my order for the other model.

Also, thoughts on the Park vs other lasts like TG73, U, 888, 724, etc? Thanks.

Looks great, also look forward to the whole copper being added.

@ironist, its not on the website anymore but if you email meermin they should still have some belts in stock. The gold one that's on there isn't the same as the copper (even though imo it looks pretty close).

New chestnut coming to the classic line, up on instagram looks really good, reminds me of a CJ shoe, might be a good cheaper alternative.

Belt is more than worth it IMHO since it would be extremely difficult to find the same shade if you were to buy separately and I doubt that the price will be significantly different.

U last remain the best fit for me as I have high arch and instep. I find the park last instep quite low. If you see the lacing gap in the picture above, I've already laced them tight, and the opening is still quite wide - granted it's stil new. The only reason they're comfortable now is because the copper suede and lining is very soft and supple, but I won't order the park last in regular calf. The U last also has a more asymmetrical shape - which conforms to the shape of your feet better. Overall U last is still the best fit for my feet.

The 724 last is slightly wider than the park last. Like the U last it also has a more asymmetrical and angular shape. I've attached a few pics below for you to see. AFPOS has a great deal on the AS Moore on 724 last if you're interested.

Having said all that, both Vass and AS do not have copper suede, and for the price (if you get the park last from GMTO) it's very difficult to beat. Overall I still couldn't be happier with the purchase.

    Hope that helps.

I am in the same situation as you, GMTO a park last austerity, taking the same size as my olfe...still waiting as I believe they made it after your current copper suede GMTO.

For now, u last seem the perfect fit for me as the beveled waist support my arch and instep perfectly. I have a feeling the instep will be a little low for my right feet as my current olfe feel tight on my right feet after long day...

Hopefully they will lift the instep of park slightly higher. Will take pic comparison when my park arrive cheers!

    Nice copper suede btw :D

Thanks for the comparison! I appreciate the help. I'll definitely ask if they can add the belt and some shoe trees.

yep. So you need to pay €260 (shoes) + €100 (MTO costs) + €20 (shipping)

^ bringing back memories of some of the shit I had to go through with meermin... Like paying $65 to ship back a poor fitting mto and having it returned. and then when they remade it, another $200 for duties and fees because they fucked up the fedex customs declaration
